This is my favorite new picture book.

I can see my four year old self loving this title. The little kids in it kept reminding me of, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, which was a personal fave!

Billy was a grumpy boy. When his mother took him to the pet shelter to find an animal companion, he was not at all impressed with the many cheerful dogs and cuddly cats. Then he found some grumpy pets at the back, and met a dog every bit as grouchy and despondent as himself. The rest, as they say, was history...

The book, The Grumpy Cats is a book about a young boy, Billy who is always grumpy, moody and cranky. One morning he goes with his mom and sister to the animal shelter in hopes of finding an animal to rescue. He is greeted by many animals that are happy and cheerful, but none of these animals fit Billy. However on the next row of animals, he finds many animals that are grumpy and scruffy, very similar to his personality. Could one of those animals be the match for him?
This book is a great story that shows that there is a perfect match for everyone, if you stay true to yourself. ( )
