The characters were all fascinating. The plot is awesome. Just an all round superb series and a great addition to it. ( ) Like the first book in this series, "Hunted" is often poorly written (typos, incorrect grammar and syntax, awkwardly worded sentences), but the writing style has improved from the first book ("Chosen"). The mythology surrounding the Gift (magic) is better developed in this second book than it was in the first, but it is still less developed than in most other books of this genre. For example, Breene, unlike most fantasy authors, does not describe how the hero accesses her magic, how magic is used, etc. The hero simply uses her powers. And there is no growth and development through time or work; the hero just suddenly uses more of her power. The book also features uncomfortable sexual scenes, which I consider inappropriate for a Young Adult novel. (The book is not engaging or complex enough to be written for adults). This second book is better than the first in that Breene uses euphemisms rather than describing the genitals in detail, but sections of the book are still crude and crass. Posing as a prostitute is reasonable in the context of chapter one, but it was not necessary for Breene to describe the act of coitus prior to the hero assuming her disguise. Unlike in the first book, Breene here uses the preferable "she aimed a kick near his manhood" rather than the constant balls this and balls that of the first novel, but she periodically lapses into her old ways. The book is interesting enough to read, since it only takes about a day, but probably not engaging enough to read again, or to purchase if it wasn't included in Kindle Unlimited or available through my local library. 3 1/2 stars Shanti goes traveling. Story picks up right after Shanti leaves Cayan's camp. She finds her brother/Chance Rohnan who is trying to rescue an old man. They get the old man named Burson out of a Graygual camp, and acquire a powerful Graygual leader, name the Hunter. Who chases them for the rest of the book. Shanti reunites with Cayan and his men, together they set out for the Shadow Lands. Burson is shaping up to a Yoda like character, the Hunter a Darth Vader type. While this book was thoroughly packed with action and was, as a result, such a quick read to barrel through, it wasn't quite up to the same level as the first. My first complaint, if I can convey it without spoiling anything, was that we met someone from Shanti's past, but in such a way that I found mightily confusing. She referred to this character in such a way that I found myself referring back to the first book to clear up their relationship. With no explanation given, it seemed more emphasis was put on this relationship than we were led to believe, and it wasn't really cleared up until midway through the book. My second complaint was simply how painful the slow burn remains to be throughout this book. I so desperately need there to be some give between Shanti and Cayan... anything. Still, the story holds strong, and I'm eager to jump into book 3. Hunted (The Warrior Chronicles #2) by K.F. Breene Our Chosen has run from the safety of the town to protect them and continues her journey. She finds a fellow survivor but he is a prisoner. The book is full of action, adventure, mystery, magic, and skilled fighting! They find another with gifts even stronger and much different than their own and they must protect the old man. She realizes she must reunite with her power's mate and go back to train him. This is one busy and well traveled, but thrilling ride! Her horse is hilarious! It's as mean as she is! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
