Pretty dramatic story here, building on fire, little dog rescued, men chopping with axes and breaking windows to put out the fire. I will be interested to see how my grandson likes it when he is old enough to read it to. My husband says it was one of his favorites. ( )

This is a great book to read with preschooler’s when doing a unit on community helpers. This book goes over what a fire fighter does to fight a fire. It shows them rushing to the truck and putting out the fire and rescuing a dog from the burning building. ( )

We change it to "fire fighters" to update it, but our kid really does like this book.

This was a very good book to talk about safety. It was great at showing exactly how fire fighters do their job on a daily basis. I think this is a more informational text. ( )

I LOVE Little Golden Books. This is that great book for kids that love fire trucks or firefighters. Great written sounds too, like CLANG and the SSSSSS of water. Not sure when students start learning about onomatopoeia, but if the interest level matches up with this, it could be a cute lesson.
