Jance’s three sleuths: Sheriff Joanna Brady and Ali Reynolds. Brady is called out to investigate an early morning truck crash, where the truck cab is riddled with bullets and the cargo (Legos) spread all over the highway. High Noon Enterprises finds out and dispatches a team to investigate how its client's merchandise ended up in the Arizona desert. Lots of action, but Jance missed an opportunity to develop the bad guys, and make this story richer. I was given a free ecopy of this novella from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I did not realize it was a novella when I began reading it, and was so enjoying it that when the story came to its quick conclusion, I was angry. I immediately went back to the source of the galley and re-read the synopsis, learned it was not an excerpt, and laughed at myself. No Honor Among Thieves is a great quick read - I was obviously caught up in the characters and full of hope to get to know them better. I am looking forward to reading a full length novel withe these characters. I was given a free ecopy of this novella from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. "A semi's gone over the embankment." The call wakes Sheriff Joanna Brady in the middle of the night, but what brings her fully alert is the rest of the story. The driver didn't drift off to sleep and cross the center lineâ??he was shot, multiple times, by someone with serious firepower. And when the truck crashed through the guardrail, its payload wound up scattered all over the roadâ??boxes upon boxes of Legos. Legos that are being tracked by B. Simpson's security firm to reduce black market salesâ??and Ali Reynolds is just the woman to get to the bottom of the crime. She has the tech and the intel to follow the money (or, in this case, the Legos), which makes her a valuable asset to Joanna's team. Soon these two strong women realize that they're not just sharing a case, they're kindred spiritsâ??which is paramount, because the killer they're up against is anything bu No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Limited LEGO products are apparently quite valuable and there seems to be a black market for it. But when something goes wrong and a truckload of LEGO gets ambushed must Ali Reynolds and Joanna Brady find the culprits.
I find novellas the perfect way to get to know series, to see if I find the characters interesting enough to read the books and get to know the writing style of the authors. I found this story OK, well-written and quite enjoyable action-filled. I must admit that I wasn't completely taken with the story of LEGO theft. For some reason, it just didn't appeal that much to me. Perhaps I'm not just that interested in organized LEGO thieves.
