Wilamena Carlisle has only a few weeks to find her one shot at love, according to her astrological chart. Her mother, famed astrologer, taught her that the stars never lie. But would she fall for someone outside of chart? Conceptually, this sounds adorable. Falling for someone unexpected? Cute. Unfortunately, I didn't really like this as much as I wanted to. Love triangles, usually not the biggest fan of them, and this one was predictable (i.e. pretty obvious to see who 'Mena' was going to end up with). So the twist wasn't necessarily a surprise. The main character, Wilamena, wasn't my favorite to read, either. She was so strongly stuck on following her Fifth House that chaos ensued (and it was occasionally grating to read). I felt as though everything would have been solved had she just been more honest in the beginning. The supporting cast - Irina and Grant's band friends, was more fun to read, and I wish they were explored more! Other than that, it's a cutesy romance of a girl who tries to figure out who her heart belongs to in a set amount of time. Would have been interesting if she actually did run out of time (there's a twist for you). Also posted on Wonderland Novels Wil is a girl who’s always checking the stars for answers to life’s questions. As someone who also tends to look for signs to show me I’m on the right path, I totally got this. But in Wil’s case, the astrological charts and signs she’s reading conflict with what her heart’s telling her. And I totally understood how devastating this can be. It’s so easy to get caught up in what you think your future should be, especially when a gorgeous guy appears and proves himself to be your perfect match. But…there’s this other gorgeous guy. With a guitar. One who conquered his own fears to save her. By this point, I was hooked. I needed to read on and find out how this was going to turn out! Summer of Supernovas was a perfect YA romance. I loved Darcy Wood’s heartfelt, yet witty writing. She crafted a main character who made me laugh and cry. And the supporting cast was also fantastic. I loved Manny. Everyone needs a Manny in their life! A stellar debut—I can’t wait to read more by this author. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

I absolutely LOVED this book! This book was one of the cutest contemporary novels I have read in a long time. I love contemporary books and this book made me realise why I love them so much.
Summer of Supernovas is a fun and flirty romantic comedy that will have you laughing on one page and tearing up on the next.
I highly recommend it!
