This is the second book in the Chime Travelers Series. Patrick and Katie are twins. Lily is a new girl at the school who has no father and no friends. Katie wants to be her friend but is afraid that if she is, then she will be shunned and she really wants to be popular. In this book, while helping with the cleaning at St. Anne's, when the bells ring it is Katie's turn to time travel. When she realizes she is no longer at St. Anne's she tries to find Father Miguel to help her get home. Instead she meets Tekakwitha, a quiet girl with scars on her face from a terrible disease (Small pox). Tekakwitha’s family doesn’t accept her because of her Christian faith that she got from her mother. Katie begins to see the parallels between the way Tekakwitha's family and community treat her and the way she and her friends have been treating Lily. Will she be able to find her way home and change the behaviour of herself and her friends? A good story interwoven with great lessons and the Christian Faith. Another good book for a Christian or Catholic School Library or Church Library.
