When Stripe provokes Hunter into joining him in making mischief, Hunter doesn't want to but goes along because they are best friends. He feels worse when he joins Stripe in ripping up his art project, a gift for his mother. When he tells his mother what happened, she understands but points out that being a best friend isn't always about following along but helping your friend be his best self. Hunter's friend influences Hunter to do act wrong at school. Hunter follows his friend but becomes upset. After a lesson from his mom, Hunter learns to lead by example. Together Hunter, and his friend, Stripe,do the right things in class and become even closer. I would read this to my class when talking about doing the right thing and not following others to be funny or "cool'. Hunter and his best friend do everything together, and they are inseparable at school. Hunter sometimes doesn't agree with some of the bad things that his friend does, but because they are best friends he does it anyway. When hunter get in trouble he learns that sometimes best friends should tell each other what's right instead of doing what's wrong. I liked this book. The main character, Hunter, was a good role model for his friend. For example, Hunter sat still and listened to a story instead of goofing off and giggling. I really liked the illustrations because the pictures conveyed what actual children do in their free time and at school. The main idea of this story is that being a best friend does not always mean being a copycat. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
