Honestly, I skimmed the last 70% of this book...and I don't think I missed much. There isn't anything wrong with this book. It's sweet and a tad cheesy; a classic example of a slow burn type of romance (nothing happened with these two for the first 30% of the book). But it just made everything drag for me. I wanted passion from the get-go and lots of sexual tension. I've seen it all before and if I was in a better reading mood or perhaps a bit more prepared for the slower approach, I would have enjoyed it a little more. Saving myself for marriage, not hardly. Saving myself for someone who will make my heart race, most definitely. In theory it's a good plan, however even the best-laid plans fall through. Seeing him, being around him, alerts all my senses and I dream about being his, wrapping myself in his arms and never letting go. The only problem-he sees me as his sister. My name's Ava Evans, and I'm in love with my older brother's best friend, Nate Garrison. Burying myself in work for the past two years, avoiding any thought of her, has worked, until now. She's everywhere, in my dreams, in my gym, and in my heart. I'm not sure when I fell in love with Ava Evans, but I am completely in love with my best friend's baby sister. At first she was too young for me, and that made it easy to stay away. Now, it's a struggle to keep my distance. How am I supposed to resist her when I can't escape her? If he ever found out, it would ruin our friendship. Even with that knowledge, all she would have to do is just say when. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Ava and Nathan discover they have both been in love with each other since childhood and never acted on it. Then they decide they won't have sex until they tell her brother/his best friend that they are together. And the miss each other on the phone for months!
Nathan is that particular kind of romantic novel hero - all about protecting his true love to the point of barely able to control beating any competitors or marauders to a pulp - and of course he has the muscle to do it!
But he also displays such tenderness, thoughtfulness, care - it's like love is this giant outlet for practising the discipline of worshipful devotion - in this case, to his love object, the person who has saved his soul.
It puts a lot on the lovee!
I usually read the comments below after I've written my own ... and I see that a reviewer has described the book as cheesy and that's just the word I was looking for!
I feel badly rubbishing Just Say When, because I did finish it - an easy read in a sitting. That's why I've given it the extra half star to make 3 stars. ( )
