This book is a concise but fully illustrated account of the Makahvillage site of Ozette, located on the Olympic Peninsula in Washingtonand excavated in the 1970s. Excavations at the site, which wasabandoned as a village in the early twentieth century, revealedwell-preserved houses and artifacts buried by a mudslide in thesixteenth century, including normally highly perishable wood andbasketry objects.
