Alexander and his friends are back on their pirate ship the Flying Dragon ready for another imaginative adventure. Captain No Beard really wishes his ship had a flag, but he hasn't found the right one yet. One of his many duties of being Captain of a ship is finding the perfect flag, along with watching over his crew. He is proud to watch each of his crew members taking pride in their jobs. Everyone has to work together as a team to stay safe on his ship. When Zachary, the new baby crew member joins them, he begins to interfere with everyone else's jobs. But finding the right job for Zachary seems to be difficult because he is too young. Captain No Beard needs to find a job for him before his whole crew becomes upset. Carole P Roman has found another fun adventure for this group of friends full of imagination and with another life lesson on including everyone in the fun and being a team. Kids will be able to identify with Zachary feeling left out as well as the rest of the crew not wanting Zachary to "mess up" their jobs. This is another hit in the Captain No Beard series. Roman seems to be able to easily write out these stories and kids will continue to read them as fast as she can write them. This is a great series to add to your library! This is another Captain No Beard Story. Captain No Beard is off on another voyage with his crew. Each of them is doing their chores. Linus the lion polishes the lamp to light their way. Matie the goat cracks coconuts for them to have a snack, Hallie swabs the deck, Cayla stuffs torn up burp rags in the ships cracks and Mongo was in the crows nest with the newest member Zach. Mongo didn’t want him there because he was too little and couldn’t talk yet. On top of all of these problems the captain has been unable to find a flag for his ship The Flying Dragon. How will he unite his crew and find a flag? Read this wonderful book where a young boy and his friends use their imagination along with the toys in his room to find adventure. This is a great book for a young child. In fact, boys might enjoy it more than girls, at the risk of sounding sexist. Captain No Beard has a new member on his ship and must find the newbie a job as well as keep the ship running smoothly. In short Captain No Beard manages to do both. He writing is very suitable to children of all ages, whether they are reading the book with supervision or whether someone is reading the book to them. The story is captivating while also having a good, solid message of teamwork. I read this book to a small group of children who were all seated with rapt attention throughout the entire story. In fact, some of the children even had, in my opinion, thoughtful onions (for their young age) about the book and its message I highly recommend this one for parents looking for a great book to read aloud or help a young on read himself or herself. I received this from the author in exchange for an honest review. I even got a free flag like the one in the book!! Another adventure for Captain No Beard and his crew: the Flying Dragon still misses a flag, but Captain No Beard is indecisive about the perfect design. When latest crew member Zachary wants to play along, No Beard realizes that good friends and shared fun can also create something perfect. Again, this Captain No Beard manages to very subtly convey an important message for children - that it is important to include everyone. While my son enjoyed this book, his enthusiasm was not as great as the crew's adventure with the Aurora Borealis. I guess this one had not enough action and probably he has just outgrown this kind of story. (I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

It's business as usual on the Flying Dragon. Their mission is to find a flag for the ship. Captain No Beard sighs, "Being a captain is hard work," as he watches the busy crew preparing the vessel for their next adventure. Polly is giving out pretzels; Linus is polishing a lamp. Matie is cracking coconuts, Cayla is stuffing holes, and Hallie is swabbing the deck. High overhead, trouble is brewing, and it is not the weather. Mongo does not want any help from the newest crew member, and it is creating a hurricane of a mess on board. The team must come together and find a task that will fit Zachary without interfering with their own fun. On the way, they acquire a flag that will unite them as both friends and crew. Join the problem-solving crew of the Flying Dragon as they find a flag for their ship and a job for Zach. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

This is another fun story with all of our favorite characters acting out their imaginary pirate adventure. The story adds a new character, young child trying to fit in and play with the children. While the story is about creating a flag for the Flying Dragon, it is really about learning that everyone has talents and abilities. It emphasizes the importance of making the new member feel welcome in the group.
The Captain No Beard books never disappoint me or my granddaughter. They are fun and always have a subtle message of kindness and working together as a team. One thing I especially like is the way the stories change from imagination to reality as their pretend journey comes to an end in Alexander’s room. ( )
