With every book I read I become more of a fan. The characters are always quirky and funny. I laughed out loud during some parts of the book! ( )

Jana Deleon does it again. Rumble on the Bayou is a mystery, romance and humor all rolled into one great story. She paints a picture of rural, small-town life in Louisiana which makes you believe you are there. Her characters are complex and yet individual. There is no better art than to believe in the characters and their surrounding. PLUS make us laugh. ( )

Rumble on the Bayou was good but not as funny or mystery as good as her other books. The characters were not as expected they had hidden secrets to them. They were also likable. There was a couple of love scene but easy to pass over if wanted to.

Deputy Dorie Berenger has two jobs. Besides being a deputy she is also a game warden who likes to fish on her day off. She lives on a boat.

DEA Agent Richard Starke has been chasing a drug dealer for 8 years. He does not want to be in Gator Bait. He does not want to work with the deputy. He is not impressed with her. He has always lived in the city.

The setting was Gator Bait, Louisiana. Which was rightly named. There were a lot of gators in the area.

Dorie is called out by a local because a gator was swimming in her swimming pool. He has a backpack in his mouth and other things. They are surprised to find drugs & money in it.

There was one scene that was gross to imagine. Lots of violence, and action.

I like Jana DeLeon's books and look forward to reading more from her in the future ( )

Story Synopsis: Deputy Dorie Berenger is a tough cop and game warden in the tiny town of Gator Bait. Her father is the living in a nursing home, but is actually the sheriff; this makes Dorie’s job both easier and harder in equal parts. Into this rather red-neck bucolic setting drops DEA agent Richard Stark in search of a drug smuggler. The sparks fly when these two hard heads have to work together.
Review: The plot line is both amusing and intriguing because of the off-beat characters who populate Gator Bait; in particular, Maylene Thibodeaux is a gem. Main characters are well developed and move the plot forward while giving away nothing until the ‘great reveal’. I’m hoping this is the first in a series about the town and its inhabitants. ( )
