Reviewed by Taylor Rector for TeensReadToo.com Cordelia Packer is going to see her sister in northern California, leaving from her home in San Diego, but she doesn't have a travel partner. Until Jacob (Cordelia's older sister's ex-boyfriend), who is totally obnoxious but cute, offers to travel along with her. Cordelia has the trip all planned out, with an itinerary -- there are even scheduled rest stops. This is how she does everything. But that's not how Jacob does anything! He likes to take his time and not rush through anything. Cordelia knows that the trip is off to a bad start when Jacob shows up at noon when he was supposed to be there at nine! While they are in the desolate, California desert -- the car breaks down. How will perfectionist Cordelia and wild child Jacob handle the situation? And will Cordelia be able to stay faithful to her perfect boyfriend? I really liked reading this kind of predictable book. There were enough twists and turns to keep you interested! GETTING LOST WITH BOYS is a very fun book to read while basking in the sun! Uptight, uber-organized teen Cordelia is off to summer with her sorority living party girl sister to take a couple extra classes. Unfortunately her beloved boyfriend is off to Yosemite to commune with nature as a park ranger. To make things as uncomfortable as possible Cordelia gets stuck riding in a rust bucket heap with her sister's overly annoying ex-boyfriend, Jacob Stein. True to her nature Cordelia had their trip planned, plotted and scheduled down to the millisecond. She should have realized that going anywhere with Jake would never go according to plan. The funny thing is, the later they get and the farther off course they go, the less she seems to mind. Could it be possible that a trip she should hate could turn into the time of her life? This was a very enjoyable, cute and quick read. The only thing that did rub me the wrong way a bit was the stereotype she made of zealous environmentalists (all things considered this is mostly because I really do think they have a point a lot of the time). At least the author was nice enough to humanize them instead of just leaving them as militant seeming jerks. However, this was just one teeny, tiny qualm and it certainly wasn't that big a part of the story. With so little of summer left it seems a bit silly to say this, but this would be a perfect beach book, humorous, fluffy and romantic. I could almost feel the waves tickling my toes as I read :-) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Cordelia Packer hates the unexpected, but she's in for a surprise when Jacob Stein offers to be her travel companion, all the way from San Diego to her sister's place in northern California. Before she knows it, her neatly laid out summer plan has turned into a wild road trip, where anything can - and does - happen. Who knew getting lost with a boy could be so much fun? And thus the crazy road trip begins. Car break downs every other day, getting locked out of the hotel, getting drunk on the beach, going to Vegas and acting over 21...and you know what? Being so wild has never been more fun for Cordelia. Who knew she could have so much fun with a guy who she couldn't stand just days before?
This book is so cute, so cute I almost "awww"ed out loud when I finished. Each chapter they bicker and fight but at the end of each chapter they would find ways to say they were sorry. They made me laugh, and they had such an awesome road trip it makes me want to take one! Except maybe in a car that works better.
Fun, cute, cheesy (but in a good way, if that makes sense), romantic, cute, cute, did I mention cute?
It's a fun summery romance that is sure to make you "aww" out loud too. ( )
