Childhood is full of tragedies that are at once small and enormous; Krosoczka finds the silver lining in the sadness (e.g. a dropped sandwich makes a seagull happy). Bold, bright, simple illustrations paired with the pattern of the text make this an excellent read-aloud for a large group. The philosophy ("So when life gives you rain...look for the rainbow!") may not work for everyone right away, but in that case, try The Rabbit Listened by Cori Doerrfeld. ( ) I liked this book for many reasons. First, I liked this book because the illustrations fit the written text. For example, as I read the page when the sandwich dropped in the sand, the illustration showed people at a beach and a sandwich in the sand. This helped me visualize what happened in the sand. Also, when a toy broke, it said grandpa can help fix it, which showed an illustration of grandpa and the child fixing the toy. Second, I liked this book because writing was very organized. As I would read the book, something would happen and then something positive would come from it. This happened each time something bad happened. This allows children to make predictions on what might happen next by thinking of positive things. The children are able to make predictions. The big idea of this book is that something bad or sad can happen all the time, but in the end something good or happy can come from it. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Illustrations and simple text suggest ways see the positive side of difficulties, from losing one's balloon to being left with a new babysitter. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
