The Dalek War continues to heat up. On one front, Kalendorf and his Dalek forces have reached our solar system. They’ve mounted an expedition to Jupiter, which seems unoccupied, but what’s that whispering in the grass? And on another front, Alby is facing a serious conundrum with Suz sharing brain space with the Dalek Emperor. When is she Suz, and when is she the Emperor? Could he bring himself to sacrifice her to make sure the Daleks (any Daleks) don’t win the war?
Plot-wise this is a 3, because it brings everything into place for the conclusion of the series in the next installment. Execution-wise, I found this slightly less good than the previous installment—there were a couple of characters I couldn’t readily identify by voice alone, and I couldn’t remember whether they were new characters (their names were not given when they were talking). I am also not a fan of smooching in audio dramas, because I listen with earbuds and having smooching noises directly in my ear is gross. (I usually have to take the earbuds out and hold them over my ears until it is safe to put them back in.) ( )
