It was rather fast paced, and parts of it kept me reading way into the wee hours. I do feel that it could use a bit of editing, and at times the author made parts of it a bit too lengthy, then others a bit underdeveloped. At time the writing was almost perfect, others it felt a bit lacking. ( ) This book did not hold my attention. It was non-cohesive; the puzzle pieces were thrown into a jumble without too much transition between events. Dialogue did not sound natural and events, while creative, were not believable. Characters were not developed. It seemed like the author had too many ideas at once and did not know how to make them work together. Well, this was quite a treat. As fellow authors, Richard Shapiro and I exchanged books at the Readers’ Favorite International Book Award Ceremony. I never read thrillers, but, out of niceness, I decided to give this acclaimed book a shot. Glad I did because now I know firsthand what the buzz is about! Once I opened the book, I was hooked. Couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. As an investigative journalist, I tried to stay ahead of the story predicting how it would unfold, but Shapiro was a master at keeping me in the dark and spell bound. Since my schedule prohibited me from reading the entire story in one sitting, I found myself looking forward to every free minute to curl up with the book and lose myself in its magic. That’s what a great book is all about! Taming the Telomeres is a compelling tale that captivates to the very last page. I highly recommend this 5 star book. Can’t wait to read the sequel. Bring it on, Richard! Thanks for this joy. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
