I loved Teen Titans.

But I adore Teen Titans Go! It's funny and sharp and the overload on colours and talking is right up my alley. Me and my brother can watch this for days, my partner has enough after one episode. It takes a certain kind of person to like the show.

This comic wasn't what i expected. It felt too slow. An overload of things but at the same time not interesting. I feels unfair to compare the comic to the show but I do. And this fails.

Only the art I adored and gave this the extra star... ( )

Eh, it was okay, short and silly. Some of the art is hit or miss, but I liked the easter eggs from the old series. ( )

Like watching the show. I giggled all the way through.

I'm a huge fan of the Teen Titans. I love the original television show, and when Teen Titans was revived and a new show was released, called Teen Titans Go! I was there and ready to watch.

Cartoon Network has been showing episodes of Teen Titans Go! for awhile now and I admit that at first not too many people were impressed. Lately though, they have stepped up their game a notch and the shows have really become special. They have a blend of intense humor and wit that is there in the best cartoons—along with a runtime of about 10 minutes an episode (including commercials). A 20 minute show has two different episodes and it's the perfect length. They aren't "shorts" but they're not full length "episodes" either. I really like this and when I saw the graphic novel I thought it would be perfect for me to check out.

The graphic novel wasn't quite what I was expecting. It's tricky because I know exactly what I was expecting, and maybe that was why I was a bit let down. I was expecting it to be similar to the show, but it turned out to be a bit too similar. It's safe to say that this graphic novel felt exactly like the television show. The problem is, it works in the medium of television for a reason. With graphic novels, you can go to more locations, do more things, and have more people (different voices) because you don't have the restraints of television. I didn't see any differences in which I was expecting/hoping to see.

The major thing that really turned me off about this graphic novel was one of the issues within. It was exactly like a recent episode I saw on tv. The plot was about Robin when he got sick from a bad cold. They shrink and go inside his body to fight the illness. In the show it was Cyborg who they went inside, and Robin was initiating it. It was Beast Boy in this case, and he just shrunk to like a bug (because he does that, ya know)..and goes inside Robin. I was just like, REALLY!?!? It was super disappointing, I am not sure what came first but I don't want to read a graphic novel with issues that I have already seen in the television show. It's annoying. It feels kind of like a rip-off.

Would it be good for people who don't always catch the show but love the Teen Titans Go!? Yes, I think so. Is it good for people who love and watch the show and want some different? NO, it's really not.

So that's why I'm going to give this 2 stars. Two stars because I did like it, but I didn't love it. I felt like it kind of dragged on, which is bad for graphic novels and me because that's the last thing I want to feel. Especially with such short stories. The originality just wasn't there and I can't think of any additional reasons why anyone would have to seek this out to get anything that they couldn't get from the show. ( )
