In my opinion this children’s book does a great job of informing students about the Statue of Liberty. The writing is creative and is written so that children can easily understand the information. The writing is informational but would not at all bore the reader. It states random facts like when children look at a copy of the statues nose and the student says “it’s bigger than me!” The story‘s plot was a group of elementary school students taking a field trip to the Statue of Liberty. They are given a tour and the teacher gives the students random facts about how the statue of liberty came to America and how large in size the statue is. They state that the statue was a gift and really go into explaining that it was a gift of the French and its meaning is freedom. The characters show emotion and I like the way the author created the atmosphere on the trip. The characters ask their own questions and the author would go further into a topic like when they ask about why the statue is green when pennies are copper. The author explains in a way children can understand. The big idea is to inform students about the biggest statue in the US and have our students knowledgeable about it. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Do you know that the Statue of Liberty hasn't always looked green? Or that the first torch had to be replaced? Lady Liberty has been an important US symbol for more than one hundred years. Join Mrs. Bolt's class as they visit the statue and learn where the statue came from, how she was built, and what American ideas she represents. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
