Before, I'd only really read the most famous Auden poems and this selection definitely broadened my view into this works. There are some that just hit you hard, like "A Summer Night". ( ) My first longer contact with Auden's work, a short selection which includes one or two poems from each year of his work, so I thought it would be a good introduction, which it is. I have somewhat enjoyed the poems, but they partly had me lost, especially in cases where I was looking for meanings in something which was simply beautiful words. Poetry, being an essence of thought, is sometimes difficult to understand, but in Auden 's case one also gets enjoyment in their form. With time, I suppose, one gains more experience and the feel for the poems and can enjoy his work even more. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
