Instead of the usual couple of big stories this TPB was a bunch of loosely (in some cases very loosely) connected. The stories were all from the current timeline/universe (from Zero Year to Batman Eternal and all in between), but they were about different stuff. We got to meet Arkham Asylum’s first patient. There was a very cool story about Gordon showing Barbara (and the rest of the future Bat Family though they were in other parts of Gotham at the time) the Bat Signal when it was turned on for the first time. There were also some interesting Cullen and Harper stories. And a creepy Clay face story. There was also a tension filled meeting with Selina. And then there was the final panel of the TPB. It was awesome! I got this advanced galley through Netgalley on behalf of DC Entertainment. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's game-changing run on BATMAN set the comics world on fire with THE COURT OF OWLS, DEATH OF THE FAMILY and ZERO YEAR. Now collected for the first time, come the stories between the stories. In these standalone tales from the beloved series, Batman grieves for a son, infiltrates Arkham Asylum and tracks a serial killer. Spanning from the Zero Year to the future of BATMAN: ETERNAL, these stories expand and enrich the world of one of the most loved series in comics. Joining Snyder and Capullo is an all-star lineup of special guests - including Andy Kubert, Alex Maleev, Andy Clarke, Dustin Nguyen, Wes Craig, James Tynion IV, and Marguerite Bennett! This volume collects BATMAN #0, BATMAN #18-20, #28, #34 and BATMAN ANNUAL #2. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Pretty good mash-up of early New-52/Zero Year Batman stories set shortly after the death of his son, Damian. A couple of the stories deal directly with Bruce's psyche and his dealing with the loss and mourning, including a set with Superman helping out. A highlight in this volume is the "new" origin story of Clayface, and his new powers, which take a B-list villain and elevate him to something of a large conundrum for Batman. My only complaint is the cliff-hanger ending, something not normally seen in TPBs. ( )
