The little puppy can't find anyone to play with. Everybody is too lazy or too busy or too boring. He finds the Big Green Monster but he just roars and grumpy. The puppy believes that when the monster is walking away from him that he is playing hide and seek. He finds the Green Monster relaxing in the bathtub. They have a change of heart and when the puppy lays down next to his bed at night, the big green monster reaches down and puts him in bed with him.

This book is about a dog who just wants to play! When he finds a green monster to play with, he plays with the green monster even though he is not into it. In the end of the book they finally become friends. This is a good starter book and also shows that making friends sometimes takes time. ( )
