Sobo (Sophisticated Bohemian) started out in 2003 as a purple food truck in the parking lot behind a surf shop, way before food trucks were cool. Despite its remoteness, it attracted rave reviews from food media across North America. Sobo has since become a destination restaurant, having outgrown its food truck beginnings. The Good Stuff

Stunning photography
Easy to follow and detailed recipes

Sister recently went to the actual restaurant and she said the food was incredible
All of the recipes I tried turned out perfectly. The cornbread and ginger cookies are now staples in the Rayment household
Fabulous detailed index
You can tell people are passionate about this restaurant by the foreward and introduction
Going to B.C. this summer and you can bet that I will be going to the restaurant
Wonderful adice
Truly unique and inspiring recipes
The Cooks Notes section is handy and helpful
Each recipe has an introduction and many include handy cooks notes
Did I mention how wonderful the cornbread is and how easy it is to make
My 5 year old doesn't like fries (I know he's weird) but he keeps asking for the Polenta fries
The Cilantro Jalapeno Dipping sauce got uses on burgers, baked potates & fajita's - extremely versatile and quick and easy to make

The Not So Good Stuff

Yeah not the best ccokbook for Calgary, Alberta, as many of the ingredients are expensive and hard to find
Probably would be better suited for intermediate to expert cooks. I mean there are plenty of recipes for a beginner cook like me, but many of the recipes involve a lot of steps and take a long time. Again this is not a bad thing, just a heads up
I want Salmon - do you know how expensive it is in Calgary & not to mention, just not as fresh - when we go to B.C. this summer I am going to live on seafood!
