I can't really give this one a rating or write a review with my over-all impressions because I just could not force myself to read more than the first quarter of the book. I loved the quirky movie based on these writing (The Grand Budapest Hotel) but the part of the book I read had very little in common with the film. The part I read was not bad in any specific way--just completely uninteresting to me. An elegant sample of Zweig’s cultural history, autobiography, and fiction. Moving evocation of pre-WWI Vienna, and what it was to be a cosmopolitan young writer then. If the Wes Anderson movie tie-in gets more people reading Zweig, I can forgive it the twee title (a reference to the society of concierges in the film, nothing to do with the author). sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
