This book explains all of the purported benefits of practicing Transcendental meditation, such as increased inner control, decreased anxiety, increased perceptual ability etc and offers and offers numerous charts showing how the TM Meditators outperformed Control groups who did not practice TM.

The first sentence of the first page of this book states in capital letters: "THIS BOOK WILL NOT TEACH YOU THE TM TECHNIQUE.(NO BOOK CAN TEACH YOU THE TM TECHNIQUE)" The book ends by referring the reader to organizations which teach the TM Program for a "Course Fee."

If you are trying to learn how to practice TM, then don't buy this book.

After this book, I decided to explore the internet to see if I could find a website that explained how to practice TM. I located www.suggestibility.org a site created by a former TM teacher.

This site accuses Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of TM, of being a money-grabbing fraud and criticizes the TM technique as being an expensive, potentially dangerous form of brainwashing.

Judge for yourself. For me, I am practicing Zen Meditation.
