Not a bad little book, quite enjoyable if you like the genre. Having the chapters switch between points of view was sometimes a little distracting, but it's been done reasonably well. My only real problem with the book is it's too short and ends too abruptly. Yes, it's part of a series, but it doesn't feel like it should end there. Another chapter at least would be needed. ( )

Yes, it is short. Yes, it is the first part of a series. I would recommend you purchase the complete box set, which is what I did.

This is a story of a hard rock band on tour; rehearsals, concerts, after show parties, drunken behavior, self inflected pain/cutting/past depression and the possibility of a romance between the lead singer and the new guitarist.

I liked it. Many reviewers have commented on the immaturity of some characters and the unrealistic tour bus, but guess what....it's not a biography, it's a fictional story!!!! And, it's a good fictional story at that. ( )

Lola is a young musician, well, she wants to be anyway. And going on tour with her brother's band as a roadie is just one step in the right direction. But then an oppurtunity of a lifetime comes along, one she wants so bad that only a sexy, drop dead gorgeous lead singer named Drezden, can stop her in her tracks. But not because she can't play, no, she can play alright, she actually blew them away with her performance, but the magnetism between Lola and Drezden was sure to cause some fireworks and that is so not good when you have to work with that person. I actually am looking forward to reading more of this series and hope that we'll get a little more character developement. I tend to get a little irritated when I have to wait for the climax of a book and this one is going to make me wait, at least until I get the next one. ( )

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Please know that while this isn't a long book, it will literally grab your attention within the first two paragraphs; you won't remember to exhale until this story has released you from its vise-like grip when you see those four dreaded words:

"End of Book One"

Once you see those four words, you should already have book two lined up in your queue next, because you won't want to let the downtime in between linger for too long.

I love the dual POV narration in the story; Nora Flite managed to capture both Drez's and Lola's feelings equally, but without making either MC sound either too self-serving, or weak. We get to experience Lola's nervousness when she plays with the band for the first time in practice, how she saw Drez's reaction to her mistakes and what she does to handle the situation. At the same time, we really get to see the effect Lola has on Drez (but he refuses to let it show around anyone else). On top of that, throw in sexual tension and you've got one helluva story!

I can't wait to learn more about both Lola's and Drez's backstory, and how the situation with Lola's brother Sean plays out. I highly recommend this series! ( )
