So I have been waiting for Carson's story for what feels like forever! But it is finally here and I cannot wait to tell you about it.

Carlie Blair is the ultimate church mouse, who loves her father Rev. Blair and honors her mother, whom had passed away. Many people think that Carlie is old fashioned and needs to get out and become more modern and not just play video games. But Carlie is not just sweetness and light, she has a sassy side when she is at her desk as the receptionist for Sheriff Cash Greer. But her most sassy comes out when she is around Carson, the enigmatic mercenary whom likes to take pot shots at Carlie. But when Carlie see's something she shouldn't and is thrust into danger Carson rushes to free her, which leaves her more confused than ever.

Carson has a history filled with pain, heartbreak and violence, so now he has switched off all his emotions, and only enters into relationships with experienced women who know that he is not the settling down type. But Carlie gets under his skin and she makes him feel dirty and he ends up verbally striking out at her, but then he pushes it to far and Carlie ends up in hospital. That is a wake up call for Carson and he realizes that he has too many skeletons that could hurt her, he pushes her away, even after she saves his life.

Will there ever be a happily ever after for Carlie and Carson or will Carson's past keep them apart forever?

I'm a huge fan of Diana Palmer (as my bookcases can attest to)! I love there almost pure stories and their adaptation on real life. I live the way they suck me into a world where men are generally kind and love their women and are even willing to let them go, if it protects them. Invincible is all of that and more! I love the way that Carlie comes to life, when she is battling up against Carson, but is sweet and generous when she is dealing with Cash, Rourke or her father. I love the way that Carlie wears her heart on her sleeve, but doesn't want to hold or stop Carson from doing whatever he wants to do.

As in every Diana Palmer book; the writing is so beautiful, that after I finish a book I walk around with a silly grin on my face for days. The plot is magnificent and I honestly cannot put the book down! The characters are gripping, thrilling, sweet and beautiful and I absolutely love every single one of them and there can never be enough Diana Palmer stories in the world!

I give Invincible 5 stars!

Romantic and full of suspense. I enjoyed this book and would read the others in the series.

A few things I didn't like though. For one, the plot is a little weak and refers to a previous book that I haven't read. (although I think I will go and find it and read it.) Carlie's kidnapping scene had me rolling my eyes from start to finish....she just opens the door to a complete stranger and goes off with him on his say so even though she knows people are after her. Carlie's kidnapper, a former policeman, takes a shine to her and does a complete u- turn in personality ending up as a friend by the end of the book! Why can't Carlie remember to carry her phone? How can a person with a photographic memory not remember to bring a phone about with them when constantly reminded? Most people in this day and age have their phone permanently attached in some way. Her father is another odd one. He reads like a character from a comic book. He is some kind of former super-kickass-special forces guy who abandoned Carlie and her mother when she was a child and who is now a minister trying to make up for all his past sins.

Apart from that, I enjoyed the banter, and budding romance between Carlie and Carson. The side characters also added extra entertainment. Fans of Diana Palmer should enjoy this. ( )

4 STARS

This is a familiar setting Jacobs County, Texas, with a lot of old familiar characters in the background. I probably did not even recognize some familiar names, but a lot I did. It had some surprises a long the way too.

The heroine Carlie Blair is a woman of faith and a virgin. She is a secretary to Cash Grier. Her father is a preacher who has a secret past. Carlie drives a old truck, and is always forgetting her cell phone. She never dates. She loves military history and gaming.

Carson is a Lakota Sioux. A medic. He dates beautiful fast women. He is helping to watch over Carlie and her father. Carson wants Carlie but he does not do commitments. Everyone keeps telling Carson to not hurt Carlie.

Someone is either after Carlie or her father. They know a contract has been taken out but not why or for who.

There are some characters that I really liked in the end that surprised me. It pays to be nice and friendly to everyone. I don't want to ruin the plot by saying too much.

If you are one of the millions of readers who like Diana Palmer you will enjoy seeing old friends and make new ones along the way. Come and read Invincible and see what friends you recognize.

I was given this ebook to read and in return agreed to give honest review of it by Net Galley and Harlequin. ( )
