A good story to learn about. ( ) The Camel in the Sun takes the traditional Muslim hadith (an account of the Prophet's words or actions passed from generation to generation) about compassion and retells it from the camel's point of view. The camel in this story has worked its entire life in the hot sun, carrying goods for his owner. The owner is always pushing the camel to move faster and to carry more, ignoring its needs and its pain. An unexpected encounter with the Prophet helps the owner finally see life as the camel sees it. He learns compassion and kindness in the process. Each page includes beautiful illustrations. This lovely retelling of a traditional hadith about a man who learns compassion for his hard-working and mistreated camel through the action of the Prophet Muhammed invites Muslims and non-Muslims alike to reflect on compassion for others, and the need for empathy. In keeping with Islamic tradition, the Prophet Muhammed is not depicted, though other people and animals are depicted in warm, inviting colors. Highly recommended. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Inspired by the retelling of a traditional Muslim hadith, an account of the words or actions of the Prophet, which the author first heard in Sri Lanka, this is an unforgettable story about empathy. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
