Alpha & Omega, (Locke & Key #6), my sixth read from author Joe Hill & the conclusion to the Lock & Key serial. Extremely well-written, well-developed characters with a creepy, attention-grabbing storyline. I’m a character reader, I get into the characters. Who and what they are. Why they do the things they do. The things that make the reader get invested into the characters and thereby the story. I’ll be reading more from this author! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018). The big showdown with Dodge occurs in this final volume of the series as teenagers Kinsey and Tyler Locke try to outwit the supernatural demon and unravel his diabolical plan. This book pays off in many ways, circling back to earlier scenes and images of the Locke family seen in previous volumes. There is an emotional satisfaction to the way that Tyler in particular puts things together and makes the magic work for the Locke family and friends for a change. That being said, there's also a ton of carnage and many characters have tragic ends. Don't expect the magic to fix everything and be prepared for some emotionally difficult scenes. While I think this volume serves as a nice wrap for the series, I still prefer the TV show more. Maybe it really does come down to which one you experienced first, but the show was more my cup of tea. Contenido enContienePremiosListas de sobresalientes
"It took two lifetimes and countless victims, but Lucas 'Dodge' Carravaggio has his terrible prize at last: the key which will open The Black Door. Disguised in the form of little Bode Locke, Dodge descends into the Drowning Cave, to throw back the door and release the demons on the other side. Those who have stood against him for so long-- Tyler, Kinsey, Scot, Nina, Rufus, and all the rest-- take their places as the final tragedy unfolds-- a confrontation between decency and hate in the caverns a hundred feet beneath Keyhouse, at the threshold of an evil kept for generations under lock and key" -- page [4] of cover.
