I read the Cindy Dees first (saving Justine for last!) - The February 14th Secret. It's...not bad. Several tropes I hate, such as distracted bodyguard - at one point they're on a mountainside being chased by the bad guys, she gets hypothermia so they have to stop and make a shelter and warm up for a while - so of course they have sex. At least he gets annoyed at himself for being so distracted, a couple times. A better reason than usual for instant attraction, on his side at least. And a rather stupid backstory. Don't you think, if he wants her to tell him what Peter used as a trigger, he should maybe sit down and tell her everything Peter said? Not just casual comments, but the whole thing? Sheesh. Then the trigger turns out to be torture? That's weird. And the rescue was extremely convenient. Still, overall...not bad. Good characters, only mildly annoying plotline. Though I'm not particularly interested to see any more of them - and there were no other characters to draw me on to another story. So two and a half stars - OK, don't want to reread. Second - or rather, first - story, Her Un-Valentine; as usual, Justine Davis knocks it out of the park. Real people all around - not just Taylor and Kincaid, but J.W. and various other people in the office have personalities, motivations and personal styles. It was rather obvious to me - putting together Kincaid's oddities and J.W.'s various requests - what was going on; Taylor's thought about suspecting people under the bed applies to her as well as to J.W., I think. And the first and only actually reasonable setup for lust under enemy eyes (only petting, thank goodness - but hot). The enemy was rather pathetic, except when he was seriously dangerous - nah, he was pathetic then too. And a happy ending, of course. Lovely. I'd like to see more of all of them. And this is a definite reread. Four stars - it would be 4.5 if this was part of a series. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Her Un-Valentine by Justine Davis When she's kidnapped, Taylor Burke is shocked to see her new coworker, Angus Kincaid, holding the gun. She later kisses him just to aggravate his partner and is even more shocked that she likes it. Could she be falling for the bad guy, or does Kincaid have other surprises up his sleeve? The February 14th Secret by Cindy Dees Colt McQuade is a soldier with a secret, and Layla Freeman is the one person who can unravel it. But someone else wants the information, too, sending the couple on the run. They'll do everything they can to protect Colt's precious knowledge--and guard their hearts in the process.
