St. Bart's 2016 #7 - Some very enjoyable stories by Davies who I discovered in my Glimmer Train short fiction journals. Some I enjoyed a lot, including 'The Ugliest House in the World' & 'Relief.'. Topics ranged from Communist savagery in 1950s Kuala Lumpur to the personal embarrassment of farting....yes, you read that correctly! And that variety was definitely part of the charm for me. Lots of variety in setting, likely due to Davies being the child of Welsh & Chinese parents. A relatively short read well worth the effort. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

In "The Silver Screen," ragtag rebels join a communist revolution with all the flair of the Keystone Kops. In the heartbreaking title story, a rural community in North Wales copes with the accidental death of a child and learns the reaches of guilt. With their deep vein of humanism and pointed humor, the stories. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
