This book follows Otto as he prepares for his birthday. He believes that presents are the most important thing in life until they get stolen and he enters a backward land to get them back. During his time here, he recognized that family is more important than gifts. This book could be a wonderful addition to a first or second-grade classroom. I am not sure how this might pair with a lesson, however, the theme of the book is an important lesson for children to be exposed to, maybe in the classroom library.
