I really enjoyed this book. It was amazing to read about animals who had heroic tendencies. The first part follows a pit bull named Lilly and goes through her adoption and her life as an animal hero. She saves her owner after the owner slips and falls onto train tracks. I have spent time with pit bulls and they seem to be some of the best dogs I've met. They are protective of their owners so there is no doubt that this dog would try to save their owner from being hit by a freight train. This dog is definitely a hero! The book also talks about a group of dolphins who helped save a man named Todd from a shark attack when he went surfing in the open water. I've been swimming with dolphins in both open water as well as in enclosures and they will follow you forever and are extremely loving and helpful. In the story Todd had a group of dolphins follow him around which is consistent with my experiences. Without the help of these animals the people in distress may not have survived their incidents. ( )
