After that, every time she had problems, her father would remind her to "just breathe". When she first meets Tate Connors, she must remind herself once more to just breathe. The attraction is physically painful as well as unrelenting. Talk about battle of the sexes! These two continuously fight and make up. They are both so afraid of loving each other and commitment, in their panic, they fight their attraction to each other. Tate is so cocky and tough. He presents himself as a gift to women and irresistible. Underneath this facade, we know he is a damaged soul just trying to protect himself. Savannah is no different. They both look for the distraction of one-night-stands where no commitments or emotions are involved. Together, these two lovers are incendiary when they get together. Although Tate is adorable, his level of immaturity and temper left me a little unconvinced as to how real his character was. Overall, though, he is a sweet character, hopefully on the mend. This is book #1 in the Breathe series. Breathless is book #2 and is available now. The final book in the series called Breathe Again is scheduled for release in 2014. I already bought Breathless and will be reading it next. Cannot stop myself from wondering what will happen with these two lovers as they face tremendous challenges. I'm all for hate to love you stories but this wasnt doing it for me. I didn't enjoy either of these characters and knowing that the sequel and novella deal with them directly wasn't something I wanted to invest in. This is just too much insta-connection for me. I feel like they met eyes across a room and within 5 days and one bout of sex they want to change their entire life philosophy they've spent the last few years establishing. It just wasn't working so me.
