The plot is fascinating, but complex and although normally I like complex, this time it was a bit too much. Still, somehow I really wanted to know what this story is all about and I can't say it is a bad story. Maybe it wasn't the right story for me at this time, but it pleased me enough to read book 2 immediatly after this one. ( ) Has several hallmarks of a first book. The scattering of focus is hard to feel truly connected to any of the characters and in fact I breathed a sigh of relief when I finished it. It's probably someone else's kind of book, just not mine. In a secluded house an invisible presence watches Victor Lazarus as he supervises the repair of the house. In the city Leonardo Pegasus is seeing how his life is going to change with a move from one ruler to another, where his skills as magician won't be needed with a king who doesn't want magic. In a village, Rusty Brown meets a strange young girl who tells him a secret, this secret changes the path of his life forever. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

In the secluded house, an invisible presence watches over Victor Lazarus as he carries out the instructions of an unknown benefactor ... In the village, Rusty Brown encounters a strange girl who tells him a secret that will haunt his dreams and lure him to the dark underworld of the city ... In the city, Leonardo Pegasus tinkers with the Multiple Empathy Engine - a bizarre contraption of his own invention that enables the user to see the whole world without going anywhere ... An old man, a young boy and a magician. Three tales beautifully intertwine to create a wonderfully original story of magic and mystery, of secret pasts and forbidden futures - of wanderers and islanders.
