This book is a chapter book about a girl (Dana) who celebrates her by insulting, pinching and eating the desert of a little boy named Anthony. Anthony then gives her a present for her birthday, an elephant. She takes care of the elephant and even allows him to sleep in her room on her bed. She soon finds out that there is a lot of responsibility to take care of an elephant. She eventually apologizes to Anthony and they become friends. Another of her friends has a birthday and Dana gives her the elephant. This book is a cute story of how we should treat others, and that we shouldn't always get what we ask for. This would be suited for a 1st or second grade class because of the chapters. I believe this book would also be a very good book for a beginning reader of chapter books because the words are so easy to read. I don’t ever remember reading books about mean girls when I was a little reader, but I seem to be reading more and more about them these days and I’m glad. It’s Dana’s birthday and she is a mean girl. One of her friends gives her an elephant for her birthday. It’s not a good gift. Dana seems to deserve it somehow, and she suffers greatly before finally, in a mean gesture, giving it as a birthday gift to another friend. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
