Gene e Sissy arrivano al palazzo del Governante e la loro avventura continua, cercando di portare a termine la loro "missione".
The Trap è la degna conclusione di una trilogia che, personalmente, mi è piaciuta abbastanza. Il primo libro mi aveva lasciata un po' titubante, ma prima il secondo e ora il terzo mi hanno reso felice di aver continuato.
Nulla in questo libro è come sembra, la verità non è così scontata.
Fino all'ultimo sono stata incollata al libro, cercando la verità assieme a Gene e Sissy.
Anche il P.O.V. di Sissy qui ha una piccola parte. Cosa che mi sembra anche giusta, visto che lei è la co-protagonista e non c'è solo Gene.
La scrittura è, come anche negli altri due libri, fluida e veloce da leggere. Fukuda va abbastanza dritto al punto e non si perde in idiozie.
Anche qui la parte "amorosa" è minima, e di ciò ringrazio tutti gli dèi esistenti perché, personalmente, in questo tipo di libri io non riesco a sopportarla!
Detto questo, avrete capito che per me è stata un'ottima lettura e che ve lo consiglio vivamente.

teen fiction (vampire dystopia with love triangle, book 3 of trilogy)
All is explained here, and even though it all makes relative sense, it's somehow not as satisfying to learn the "truth." Still, if you've read the first 2 you'll want to read the last book. ( )

The cliffhanger from The Prey led me to immediately move in to The Trap. After all, why shouldn't I just go ahead and finish the series up? This was the cruelest book in the series. The things that Gene and Sissy had to go do and the deaths! It was just heartbreaking. Also, I totally didn't expect that ending. I loved the unique spin that Fuduka put on his story. It really made me stop and think. This is a very interesting series that left me with things to think about. Wish I could go in to more details but I'm afraid of spoiling the ending. ( )

I really wanted to like this, I did. I listened to this one, so I couldn't get out of skipping though the misogynistic stuff, and I'm sorry but this "love triangle" really had me gnashing my teeth. He "loved" and or "admired" them both, but never (and this is what gets me) did he admit he loved either of them.. until the end when he said to one "you're my home?" This is deeply troubling, because it was ALL from his POV... did he not know what love was? at all, after the loss of so many, did he not know -- the author talked of loyalty being love, but what of love being love? The lead clearly expressed a need to be "close" to one or both of the girls, but how could he if he knew nothing of love? URGH!!!!

There is a semi spoiler down here, so if you have read the 1st one or the 2nd one, you probably know who I'm talkign about, though I won't tell you what happens-- but it gives you an inclination as to the happenings in this one.

I haven't even gotten into the make her the evil queen and try to destroy her move that was made... [*sigh* this is taking up too much of my mental power on anger at how women were treated overall in this series... and DON'T get me started on the grandiose ending... really...] ( )

What an amazing series! I loved the first and second book but was blown away by the last few pages of this last one. How amazing that he turned a really creepy, scarey story into this final revelation! Well done. ( )
