Rather than focus on the well-known truism that great plays and dramatic performances can deeply transform and ennoble us, Marcus draws from a much less known dimension of theatre, namely, acting technique theory, how actors and actresses learn dramatic performance as an art, profession and way of life. The book Theater As Life combines Psychoanalysis with acting techniques to show a new way for performers to become the perfect character.

Paul Marcus teams with his daughter Gabriela Marcus to combine their two professions, psychoanalysis and acting. Both have taken acting classes, Paul completed the five levels of improv training at The Peoples Improv Theater and Gabriela trained at the Atlantic Theater Acting School and Stonestreet Studios.

They share their wisdom, insights and experience in this great new work.

Highly recommended for actors, performing artists and those interested in this topic. ( )
