Eight kid-friendly paintings (like Saint George and the Dragon) have been digitally formatted so that users can zoom in and click on various aspects to learn about both the objects in the paintings and the artistic techniques used in creating them. But kids will find the coolest part of this website in the Art Zone, where they can choose from a myriad of activities that allow them to create their own artwork. In here, users can create impressionistic line drawings with Brushter or a dancing, jumping George Washington in Faces & Places, and learn about digital photo editing in Photo Op. Also available are Family Guides and Inside Scoop, PDFs of short handbooks to various exhibits and artists. The one drawback to these extensive interactive features is that users may be asked to download plugins and drivers, though a guide on the homepage suggests which ones are needed.
