This is an easy book of poetry for children to enjoy because it celebrates friendship. The vocabulary isn't too hard and the verse doesn't always rhyme so it's a good example of showing students that poems don't always have to rhyme. I enjoyed some of these verses so much that I sent a couple to my best friends to let them know I appreciate them! Poetry A collection of poems by the author about friendship, love, and togetherness. Explored relationships such as parent/ child, friends, and significant others. Honestly some of these are pretty mediocre but I don't know how discerning kids are when it comes to poetry. I did think "Laughs" was pretty good, though. The illustrations were fine but I personally don't really like the style, it was kind of that gross 90's cartoon style. If I were a teacher and someone gave me this book I would probably throw it on the bookshelf, but I wouldn't go out and buy it. "We go Together" is a book of short poems, all involving friendship. The poems have an overall theme of friendship, some picturing the different types of friends together, others are written from one friend to another. The stories promote a feeling of coming together with buddies in order to get in and out of mischief, have each others backs, make one another giggle, and simply just to make each other better people. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

"In Calef Brown's poem "We Go Together," he jubilantly decrees: "We go together / like fingers and thumbs. / Basses and drums. / Pastries and crumbs." In "You Are Two (Kiwis)," he muses, "I am quite frequently, / reminded by thee / of a kiwi. / Either kind." Yes, silliness and sentimentality have free rein in this "curious selection" of childlike poems about love and friendship, each accompanied by an equally absurd, stylized acrylic painting. Like Sandol Stoddard's I Like You, We Go Together! this book makes an offbeat Valentine's gift for anyone with a good sense of humor and a penchant for wordplay"--"A collection of illustrated poems of love and friendship teeming with wit, whimsy, and wordplay from New York Times bestselling author-illustrator, Calef Brown"-- No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
