bleeping brill.

Though there were some errors in the paragraphs about rowers and dragon boats which ruined the whole story for me :P ( )

A really enjoyable, easy read. Kieran's a talented artist who lives with his repulsive stepdad Tony, his layabout stepbrother Ryan and his abused mother. Kieran's also a detective however and is determined to find out who killed Colin, a homeless old man who is found in the canal.
It's implied, but never made explicit, that Kieran is autistic so the style of writing is very simplistic and literal. I had no problem with this I found listening to Kieran's inner voice hilarious at times, his comments about Jamie Oliver especially made me chortle. It's a beautiful book, yes it is a little straightforward, the baddies are baddies and everything works out in the end but sometimes that's exactly what you need.
Highly recommended. ( )
