Take one ex-cop/ex-con (ok, he took justice into his own hands when the courts threw out a murder case), set him up as a very successful mystery writer, and put him in a condo down the hall from a younger nympho and her elderly, arms dealing, husband, then kill the old coot. What's an investigator supposed to do? Great characters. non-stop action, and lots of questions raised (and ultimately answered). This is one of the best reads in the genre I've come across and I look forward to more from this author. ( )
