Lucanah (Luca) Astrahl bal Bune has never known an easy life because his left leg was amputated upon his birth. Luca entered The Blade School of Davi at the age of six and dreamed of becoming a master like Vohro. Luca must go through a final testing before that happens. Luca's father Druuk does his best for his son and honors his beloved's memory. Druuk senses a change coming and must be prepared for when it happens. A strange woman claims to be Luca's aunt but she only brings darkness with her. The Davinians push back the darkness that is trying to surround them. Why is Luca special? What does strange woman really want? Will darkness prevail? Your answers await you in Sword from the Sky.

I loved reading about all of the blade lore! I truly thought Luca was a surprisingly good lead character especially with being disabled. The vast history and knowledge presented was truly enlightening. I will definitely be reading more of this author's work in the future. ( )

As I was reading this book I kept forgetting that this book was self-published it is that good! See a big future in this writer. This world that he puts you in is so elaborate so visually, you have to find out what happens next. As of right now, it's free on amazon, so there is no reason not to read this book; and love it! ( )

Sword from the Sky is a dark fairytale that appears to take place in the highlands long before the Scots arrived. It is a story of kings, princes and would be princes. The son or a Prince has been crippled from birth and is trying to become a true Prince. He and has father unfortunately run into every kind of evil there is. It has all the elements to keep your interest and to want to see what happens. A quick read and an adult fairytale that is well worth the read ( )

I really liked this book because it wasn't like anything I've read before. It was refreshing to have a book that isn't strongly apart of one category or another; just simply a good read. R. Janvier del Valle is masterful writer without a doubt!

“It was something like a beast yet had the face of a woman,” said Druuk, who carried a baby in his arms. “The creature tried to take the child, but I managed to rescue it from its grasps.” He studied the shadowed forms in front of him. “He needs help. Will you aid us?”
