Loved it

I love these books that I can read in an evening. This book is a good read, great characters and storyline. The writing style left more to be desired but if you aren't a stickler about that give it a read. ( )

My actual rating would be 3.5. I read and listened to this book, starting and finishing on my Kindle with the middle being read on Audible.

I liked the story. I really like the town of Whispering Falls and see this series as having lots of potential. There are quite a few characters in Whispering Falls that I found interesting and liked. The main character was okay in this book. That happens with me sometimes when I read a series. I need a couple books before I determine how much I really like, (or not), the main character. She is obsessed with Ding Dongs. I had a similar love of Hostess Snowballs so I can relate to it. Unfortunately Hostess has killed my Snowballs. June takes a bit to get use to, which is why I am reserving my judgment of her. I didn't find a lot of character development in this book so I am hoping it comes along as the series goes on. Mr. Prince Charming is awesome though. I think everyone will enjoy him. The story, though, kept me engaged. It was fun filled with quirky characters. There was a murder and some past questionable happenings. I really enjoyed it. It is was a fast moving, engaging way to spend a night.

The Audible narrator, I wasn't impressed with at all. She wasn't what I had in mind for June or this book. I listened to another, more recent work, of the author's on Audible. The narrator on it was fabulous. I was hoping this narrator would have been more like her. I got tired of listening to her and finished the book on my Kindle.

I am going to continue reading the series. I am excited about it. Tonya Kappes is very good with series writing. This book had no graphic sex, violence or vulgar language.

I love this author. She never fails to entertain me. That is why I chose to listen to a book I have read twice. That and the fact that I’m ill so reading is difficult.
I enjoyed meeting June Heal and spending time in Whispering Falls. I have read several books in this series and will say the story gets better with each book. There are lots of interesting characters to get to know. I love the paranormal flavoring the story.
I am less than thrilled with the narrator for this. She read fast and pretty much sounded bored. I have listened to a lot of audiobooks. I really do enjoy them. I would have preferred someone who modulated their voice a bit more. My guy listened to a bit of it while we ate and the first comment he made was, “the book needs a better narrator.”
It gets four stars because I enjoy the series in ebook. I took a star for the narrator. ( )

Amazon June Heal has nothing to lose when she relocates her homeopathic cure shop, A Dose of Darla, from the flea market booth in her home town, to a quaint shop in the cozy but unusual little town of Whispering Falls, Kentucky. Or so it seems.
Cures and trouble...
Whispering Falls has a lot of secrets. From talking snow globes to whispering animals not to mention a few sprinkles of fairy dust, June realizes Whispering Falls is more magical than she thought. . .literally.
Magic stirs...
June discovers she was born into a family of psychics, and her homeopathic cures truly are magical. Unfortunately, they are not magical enough to save her from being the number one murder suspect when a member of the community that she had just had a disagreement with shows up face down in the lake with June’s lucky charm in the victim’s grasp.

I did like this one - more like a 3.5 rating. Light, cozy mystery with a bit of romance and a healthy dose of magic. 'A Charming Cure' is next in the series ( )
