In this installment we find our adventurers stowing away on an all female pirate ship. When they are ultimately found out a most epic food fight breaks out. The slapstick comedic violence is a nice change from the fairly gruesome and explicit hits in previous issues. The pacing of the issue is really great shifting between the life of the sailors to troubles of our heroes and wrapping up with a cliffhanger that promises to deliver the back-story of Baldy's gun. Which I am eagerly awaiting the revelations of the larger mythological structure of the Skull Kicker world.
Skull Kickers is a fast paced action ride filled with morally dubious adventures. The creative staff produces a supremely fun comic. One of the things I like most about the Skull Kickers experience is the way they ask the reader to play along or be apart of the series. They hold contests that solicit artists and writers to tell a Tavern Tale of Baldy and Beardy. It is really neat to see characters handled in different art styles and under the guidance of another writer. The playing along comes in the form of paper dolls and word searches with a humorous bent. There is lots of things love about Skull Kickers pick up any issue and you will be swept along in a frenzy.
