The Secret Brokers by Alexandra Weis is an interesting novel about an individual who owns a small agency that deals in secrets. The agency can work with companies/individuals to either protect secrets or acquire them from other people. A somewhat borderline legal profession.

In this story, the owner is hired by the mod in NOLA to protect the daughter of a witness in a trial. The story was a little hard to follow at times in trying to keep track of who, what and where was going on during this protection gig.

I thought from the description of the book, it might be of interest to me. But the plot was not something I ever got into. (

This book is attractive to read. The story pulls you in, the style of writing has speed and manages the building up of suspence very well. In other words, you are not goning to put it down easily, once started. Need I say more....
I am charmed by the way in which the suspension is built, renewed and renewed. A classical boy girl focus, a suspense between a man and the woman he needs to protect as body guard. And then, twists to this relationship and a very unexpected end that already makes you want to read the next book. I have enjoyed reading this thriller. (

As “The Secret Broker” seemed to be wrapping up... I was glad it kept going. There was such an awesome twist at the end- I had to read more! So what made it good to me? To start, it was nice to read about about spies and FBI without being heavily focused on it he government. The characters, while their jobs were not relatable, the emotions and personality were raw and real. The romance was not over down where it is such a fantasy that it has you rolling your eyes. And the mystery ... so well written that you knew you might be onto something but second guessed yourself.

Cannot wait to read more of Alexandra Weis books. (
