Read this a long time ago, it was my mom's book. We are big fans of the Henry Fonda/Lucille Ball movie Yours, Mine, and Ours (NOT the remake), and the story is very loosely connected to this book. ( )

Almost therapeutic reading for me. Charming and old fashioned, it was a nice change. No huge, pushy agenda. Just a story told as one person saw it.

Also, as much as I loved it, I still like the movie. Both of them have valuable messages and contain quality work. ( )

This book inspired one of my favorite films; Yours, Mine and Ours. The book was published in 1965, and the film was produced in 1968, starring Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda.

Helen's prose suits me. I enjoyed the book.

I've learned that one of Helen's sons wrote his own book as an adult, and that it seems that things did not remain so wonderful over time. I do not plan to read his book, as the reviews tend to say the writing is not good. ( )

Much more realistic than either of the two movies that were inspired by it. I enjoyed hearing about such a large family from a completely adult point of view, but I wish it was longer. ( )

Wonderful true story about a widow with 8 children who marries a widower with 10 children ... and then they have 2 children together. It was made into the terrific movie -- "Yours, Mine, and Ours" -- starring Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda. ( )
