I LIKE THINGS is at the beginning First Grade Reading level. It has 64 simple vocabulary words, and 298 words Total.
I LIKE THINGS may sound like it's about greed but in fact it's about collecting and sorting. Using simple sentences and illustrative artwork, this book shows that children can collect a number of things: buttons, stamps, leaves, and shells for example.
In addition, the boy in the story is shown organizing those things. Buttons, for instance, can be sorted by size, shape or color.
A useful book and not just a practice reader. The topic of collections are introduced and children can springboard from this to talk about what they might collect. Adults can also transition from this book to sorting exercises.
