When I saw this for free last year I downloaded it to my Kindle app and then kind of forgot about it. The other day I remembered I had it and began reading and, wow, what a nice surprise!

Crossing The Line is not only well-written, it has its own unique feel (not just because it has such delightful British flavor) and (in another nice surprise) doesn't follow the normal lesfic formula.

There are lots of kinks that thwart any attempts at a successful relationship in the beginning (lack of trust on both women's parts, other people intentionally and unintentionally getting in the way, the unexpected stuff that life throws at us all the time) and that only adds to the reality that makes Crossing The Line so refreshing. Not only that...the racing background often comes to the forefront of the book's plot and makes for great and exciting pacing, something that I wasn't expecting since I've never found running to be terribly exciting.

So often "free" books (Crossing The Line now has a cost of $3.95) turn out to be duds. That is not the case with Toni James' wonderful novel. I would gladly pay for it! ( )
