Blue sky. Rainbow sky. Rain sky. This colorful book shows the many different skies one could see when they take the time to look up. The illustrations in this book are absolutely stunning. The wide array of colors from page to page are all vivid and perfectly display how beautiful the changing sky really is. No doubt young readers will be amazed. ( )

"Blue Sky" was mainly a picture book with minimal words that showed beautiful full page pictures of different skies. Each page was full of a beautiful, but different sky; however, each sky as beautiful as the first but in a different way, This book does have beautiful pictures of different skies but there can be a hidden message in this book that tells students, just because you are different does not mean you aren't beautiful in your own way. Everyone is unique and looks different but that doesn't mean you aren't beautiful. This book can be used a short cute picture book or as a lesson for diversity in your classroom. ( )

this book has pictures of different skies. I feel like maybe this book can describe how somebody is maybe feeling that day. Maybe it could be happy, sad, mad, excited, lonely, etc. Everybody has a different opinion. Also, I think that this book uses a lot of imagination as well. ( )

For about the first nine years of being a parent, the Wood family (Audrey, Don, and Bruce) were the authors and illustrators of most of my children's favorite books (along with Ezra Jack Keats, Dr. Seuss, Mo Willems, Eric Carle, and Lois Ehlert). Although they have grown to have new favorites, I still like to read their old favorites.

Blue Sky by Audrey Wood is aimed at two to five year olds who are either learning the names of things or are beginning to read on their own. It is all about the sky, done mostly with colorful illustrations, and a two word description for each page spread.

Each page spread explores a different state of the sky. There is the blue sky, stormy sky, night sky sunset, and so forth. It's a simple but pleasurable read. It goes well with Stars by Mary Lyn Ray. ( )

We both really liked this one (my 3 year old and me). I've come across so many books recently with exceptional illustrations, that I keep seeking them out, hungry for more. We're quite fond of other [a:Audrey Wood|3368|Audrey Wood|http://www.goodreads.com/assets/nophoto/nophoto-U-50x66.jpg] books, such as [b:Quick as a Cricket|815263|Quick as a Cricket|Audrey Wood|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1178649549s/815263.jpg|1611721], so when I saw Blue Sky displayed in the "New" shelf at the library I grabbed it. The text is super simple, two words per page spread. But these simple descriptions of sky take you through a whole day of events and atmosphere, and the illustrations are simply beautiful. This is a feel-good book! ( )
