Nice setting but poorly written. ( )

This was awful, it just went on and on and I never once cared about anyone in the book or what was happening to them. I cared more that the husband of the Mexican couple is named Jesus, and they kept calling him Jesus, as in Jesus Christ, not Jesus as in a Mexican/Spanish mans name. I didn't care that the teenage daughter was almost raped and everyone including an adult hid it from her mother. I didn't care that the mother was left with no money after her divorce. I didn't care about anyone in the book it was just boooooooooooooooooooooring ( )

Newly single Caroline and her teenage daughter Izzy are in desperate search for a change of scenery and a new home. After Caroline discovers her husband has been unfaithful throughout their marriage, Caroline knows she has to sacrifice her comfortable life in Singapore for anything that doesn't involve her ex-husband. Finding a renovated barn in the English countryside, Caroline sees her dream of owning her own restaurant fulfilled. But the chaos is far from over for Caroline and Izzy, and they have to rely on each other and their newfound friendships to help them through. This was a great summer read with enough surprises and loveable characters for any reader to enjoy.

I enjoyed this book, but I got annoyed with the Narrator. She pronounced "Jesus" with J sound not the H sound. The character was from Mexico. Once the wife explains to an elder woman (who said it was too soon for Jesus to be calling her) that it is actually pronounced "Hesus". And Mark makes a point of saying he remembered to say "Hesus" not "Jesus". It annoyed me every time she said it wrong. Since it was pointed out twice what the right way was.

I enjoyed the story. I knew Izzie's trip to London wouldn't go well. Caroline asked no questions about the supervision. At least she realized that it was the wrong decision and she let Izzie talk her into it. ( )
