Kenna finds herself in hot water and leaves town heading to a town that she remembers from when she was a child. As a lot of small towns do (I have been in one like this) the community embraces her immediately. The characters are charming. Kenna reconnects with Will who know owns a farm and races horses. He is hard worker, there is some romance but not the porn a lot of readers like now so it is sweet. The story is about Kenna mainly and the bad people she ran from and how a group of people helped her sort this out. Saved by the supporting characters. Wow – I couldn’t have finished this book if all the characters had been like Kenna and Will. Kenna is apparently an undercover brilliant, beautiful genius because everyone bows down to kiss her ass. Will is about as dull as they come for a love interest and doesn’t take up much space in the book. And like other reviewers this book is a hot mess but I adored the supporting characters and quirky little town more than other folks. The supporting characters totally saved this book from a 2-star review for me. I loved Mo, Paige and the Rose sisters. The author did a good job of creating a unique little community. I honestly am glad the other books are about other characters because it gives me hope for the series. The story itself isn’t bad but Kenna is in a very difficult position and the author ties it up a little nicely while also giving us a cliffhanger. I’m not a big fan of cliffhangers because of the length of time I take between books in series. The narrator was okay except I felt like some one was reading a book to me and not part of the story. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

While I didn't dislike this book I found it quite annoying to read!
Once I finished it I snooped around other readers' reviews to find out if it was just me and, well, it turns out I'm not the crazy one!
The main problem for me was the fact that the characters often lost themselves in pointless information -no, I'm not really interested in a detailed account of how football is played and, while I could understand that being from New York pretty much means an unusual attention in fashion's trends, was it really necessary to name the brand of every little piece of clothing Kenna put on??!-, moreover the dialogues were way too cutesy and fulsome...everyone in this book sounded so fake it hurt!!
Many reviewers also pointed out the less than stellar editing; since I'm a non-native english reader all I'm comfortable in saying is that some phrases just didn't sound right...
Even overlooking these problems, the story still left much to be desired: it lacked intensity both in the mystery and in the romance element! ( )
